作品描述
Today, I want to highlight one of the items of Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage: the making technique of Hong Kong-style milk tea. Originating in the 1940s, early British-style milk tea used expensive ingredients and had a bland taste that didn’t resonate with local preferences. It was only after World War II that milk tea gained popularity, becoming a daily staple for ordinary people. Today, Hong Kong residents consume an average of about 2.5 million cups of milk tea each day, illustrating how deeply ingrained "Hong Kong-style milk tea" has become in the lives of its people.
