作品描述

Mooncakes are a quintessential part of Cantonese cuisine. Traditionally, they were made with lard and chicken fat, resulting in rich, oily, and sweet cakes that reflected past preferences for indulgent flavors. The oil content and sweetness level were considerably higher than what we find today. Nowadays, many bakeries are adapting to modern tastes by using vegetable oil and reducing sugar content in their mooncakes. In recent years, low-sugar mooncakes and snow-skin mooncakes have also gained popularity, offering lighter alternatives while still honoring this beloved tradition.
