It is the second day of Chinese New Year. The street is decorated with red lanterns. People are wearing colourful costumes and celebrating joyfully by performing the dragon dance which is a traditional performance rooted in Chinese culture. It can be traced back to ancient China and is associated with bringing rain, ensuring a good harvest, and promoting harmony. The dance is performed by a team of people who are holding the snake-like dragon supported by poles. It requires teamwork and collective strength. The movements are smooth and wave-like. It symbolises prosperity, good fortune and the dispelling of evil spirits.
